Q: How do you install the Valve Rocker Arm and Push Rod?
A:
You need to lubricate the rocker arms and pushrods with clean engine oil, the flange of the rocker arm bolts with clean engine oil, and the flange or washer surface of the bolt that will contact the rocker's arm, install the rocker arm pivot support, the pushrods and the rocker arms and bolts and rotate the crankshaft until the number one piston is at the top dead center (TDC) of the compression stroke. In this position, the number one cylinder rocker arms will be an off-lobe lift. Then you can rotate the crankshaft 360 degrees and install the number one cylinder spark plug and the rocker arm cover.

You need to lubricate the Valve Lifters and engine block valve lifter bores with clean engine oil, insert the valve lifters into the lifter guides, align the flat area on the top of the lifter with the flat area in the lifter guide bore, push the lifter completely into the guide bore and install the valve lifters and guide to the engine block, the valve lifter guide bolts, and the cylinder head and gasket.
Q: How do you install the Valve Stem Oil Seal and Valve Spring?
A:
You need to clean the cylinder head Valve Spring seat area, lubricate the valve guide and valve stem oil seal with clean engine oil and install the valves into the proper port, the valve stem oil seal, the valve spring, and the valve spring cap, compress the valve spring using the J 38606 and install the valve keys. Then you can remove the J 22794 from the spark plug port, hand start the spark plug, install the spark plug wires at the ignition coil and the spark plug wire to the spark plug, inspect the wires and install the rocker's arm.
