Then in 1961, John Cooper refined the model and created the Mini Cooper. The Copper S model was faster and stronger than the standard mini at any level. The 1960s were the prosperous decades for the brand. During this stage, the Mini Pickup and the Mini Moke were issued. Mini cars were often seen in movies. It became a part of the fashion trend. In 1968, the United States adopted new emission regulations. That made the company withdraw from the American market.

From the year 2000 to 2002, Mini was discontinued momentarily. After that, it adopted the BMW-designed parts: suspension, steering, and brakes. Now the brand has developed into a big family. It includes the Cooper derivations, the Clubman, the John Cooper Works variants, and the four-door Countryman.
