Q: How do you install the camshaft position sensor?
A:
You need to align the square slot in the reluctor wheel with the CMP sensor, insert the CMP sensor through the reluctor wheel slot and install new CMP sensor mounting screws, the rotor onto the reluctor wheel, new rotor screws, the distributor cap, and the new distributor cap screws. Then you can connect the CMP sensor harness connector, the spark plug wires, and ignition coil wire, and the negative battery cable.

A:
You need to disconnect the negative battery cable, the spark plug wires, the ignition coil wire from the distributor, and the camshaft position (CMP) sensor harness connector from the distributor. Remove the distributor cap screws, the distributor cap, the rotor screws, and the rotor. Then you can align the square slot in the reluctor wheel with the CMP sensor and remove the CMP sensor fasteners as well as the CMP sensor.
