You need to disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the EGR valve harness connector, the EGR valve to flange attaching bolts, the linear EGR valve, and the flange gasket. Then clean the linear EGR valve gasket surface.

A:
You need to install the EGR pipe in the proper location and start the pipe fittings by hand. Ensure that the EGR pipe fittings are correctly lined up on the adaptors to the exhaust and intake manifolds. Then tighten the EGR pipe fitting to the exhaust manifold and the EGR pipe fitting to the intake manifold, and install the EGR pipe bracket retaining fastener.
Q: What is the proper way to install the canister purge solenoid?
A:
The proper way is to install the purge solenoid to the intake manifold and the purge solenoid mounting nuts, and then connect the purge solenoid electrical connector as well as the EVAP purge pipe.
