Q: How do you remove the fuel level sensor?
A:
You need to disconnect the negative battery cable, relieve the fuel system pressure and drain the fuel tank. Next, remove the fuel tank and the fuel sender assembly. Disconnect the fuel pump electrical connector and remove the fuel level sensor electrical connector retaining clip. Disconnect the fuel level sensor electrical connector and remove the fuel level sensor retaining clip. Then squeeze the locking fangs and remove the fuel level sensor.

Q: What special tool will I need when servicing the fuel level sensor?

You will need a fuel pressure gauge and a fuel sender lock nut wrench.

Q: How can we inspect for leakage?
A:
We can turn on the ignition for 2 seconds and turn off the ignition for 10 seconds. Then turn on the ignition.

Q: What is the proper way to install the fuel level sensor?
A:
Install the fuel level sensor and the fuel level sensor retaining clip. Connect the fuel level sensor electrical connector, the fuel level sensor electrical connector retaining clip, and the fuel pump electrical connector. Next, install the fuel sender assembly and the fuel tank. Fill the fuel tank and install the fuel filler cap. Finally, we connect the negative battery cable and inspect for leaks.
