Q: What is the removal procedure for the ignition coil and ICM (HVS)?
A:
You need to remove the air cleaner assembly and nut and disconnect the electrical connectors. Remove the Ignition Coil wire to the distributor, the studs holding the bracket, and the ignition coil to the intake manifold and the bracket and the ignition coil. Then you can drill and punch out the two rivets holding the ignition coil to the bracket and remove the ignition coil from the bracket.
Q: What is the proper way to install the vehicle control module (VCM)?
A:
The proper way is to align the notches of the knock sensor module with the notches in the socket. Install the knock sensor module in the socket, the knock sensor module access cover on the VCM, and the knock sensor module access cover screws. Connect the VCM harness connectors, install the VCM into the VCM bracket, fasten the VCM retainer clip and connect the negative battery cable.
