Q: How do you install the valve lifter?
A:
You need to install the Valve Lifters one at a time and install the valve lifter guide retainer, the valve pushrods, and the intake manifold.
Q: How do you remove the valve stem oil seal and valve spring?
A:
You need to remove the valve rocker arms and the spark plugs, install the J 22794 into the spark plug hole and apply compressed air to hold the valves in place. Install the valve rocker arm nut, and use the J 5892-D to compress the valve spring, and the J 38606 if clearance does not permit the use of J 5892-D. Remove the valve stem keys, carefully release the valve spring tension and remove the J 5892-D or the J 38606, the valve spring cap and valve spring, and the Valve Stem Oil Seal.
Q: What is the valve clearance adjustments procedure?
A:
You need to turn the valve rocker arm nuts clockwise until all of the valve lashes are removed, turn the crankshaft clockwise until the alignment mark on the crankshaft balancer is aligned with the notch in the engine front cover tab, and look at the number 1 cylinder valves as the crankshaft balancer alignment mark approaches the notch in the engine front cover tab.
