FAQ for Wheel Cylinder Repair

Q: How do you remove the leading/trailing components of the wheel cylinder?
A:
You need to remove the bleeder valve, the boots, the pistons, the seals, and the spring assembly, and inspect the cylinder bore for scoring and corrosion and the spring assembly for signs of discoloration due to heat. Then you can clean the inside of the cylinder bore with crocus cloth and the cylinder bore with clean brake fluid.
