To reduce the risk of fire and personal injury, before connecting fuel pipe fittings, you shall always apply a few drops of clean engine oil to the male pipe ends.

A:
You shall relieve the fuel system pressure before servicing any fuel system connection, squeeze the plastic retainer release tabs, and pull the connection apart.

A:
The proper way is to apply a few drops to clean engine oil to the male fuel pipe end, push both sides of the quick-connect fitting together, and once installed, pull on both sides of the quick-connect fitting to make sure the connection is secure.
