The procedure is to open and support the hood, lift the retainer clips on the assist rod, pull the upper end of the assist rod from the ball joint on the hood, and pull the lower end of the assist rod from the ball joint on the lower hood hinge.

A:
You can press the upper end of the assist rods onto the ball joint on the hood, press the lower end of the assist rods onto the ball joint on the lower hood hinge, remove the support from the hood and close the hood.
