Q: How do you replace the left valve rocker arm cover?
A:
You can remove the engine, the fuel injector sight shield, and the right engine mount strut bracket, disconnect the left spark plug wires, remove the left spark plug wire cover, the left valve rocker arm cover bolts, the left valve rocker arm cover and the gasket, clean the sealing surface on the cylinder head and the valve rocker arm cover and clean the valve rocker arm cover bolts of all thread locking adhesive.

A:
You can tighten the right valve rocker arm cover bolts to 10 Nm (89-inch lbs.).

01/11/2022Q: How do you replace the right valve rocker arm cover?
A:
You can remove the fuel injector sight shield, the generator, the tensioner bracket, and the AIR valve/pipe, rotate the engine, remove the fuel injector sight shield bracket, the right (rear) spark plug wires, the EVAP purge valve, and the brace, remove the right (rear) valve rocker arm cover bolts, the right valve rocker arm cover and the gasket, clean the sealing surface on the cylinder head and the valve rocker arm cover and clean the valve rocker arm cover bolts of all thread locking adhesive.

01/11/2022Q: What is the proper way to install the left valve rocker arm cover?
A:
You can install the new valve rocker arm cover gasket and the left valve rocker arm cover, apply thread lock compound GM P/N 12345493 or equivalent, to the valve rocker arm cover bolt threads, install the left valve rocker arm cover bolts and the left spark plug wire cover, connect the left spark plug wires, install the right engine mount strut bracket, the fuel injector sight shield and the engine lift bracket, inspect for proper fluid levels and inspect for oil leaks.
