The proper way is to install the backup lamp bulb to the backup lamp bulb sockets, install the backup lamp socket to the lamp assembly, twist clockwise to secure the socket, and then install the tail lamp assembly to the vehicle.

Q: What is the removal procedure for the backup light bulb?
A:
The procedure is to remove the 2 screws which secure the tail lamp assembly, pull the tail lamp assembly rearward to access the backup lamp bulb socket, twist the backup lamp bulb socket counterclockwise and remove the socket from the lamp assembly, and then remove the backup lamp bulb from the backup lamp bulb socket.
