The procedure is to disconnect the electrical connector from the camshaft position (CMP) sensor, scribe an alignment mark on the flange of the CMP sensor housing and the cylinder head, remove the CMP sensor housing bolt, and then remove the CMP sensor from the cylinder head.

Q: What is the proper way to install the camshaft position sensor?
A:
The proper way is to install a new O-ring on the CMP sensor housing, install the CMP sensor housing into the cylinder head, install the CMP sensor housing bolt, and then install a timing light and check the ignition timing.
