You should connect the scan tool to the Data Link Connector (DLC), turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF, use the scan tool to select the IAC Reset in Special Functions, activate the reset function, wait for the IAC counter to stop, start the engine and inspect for proper idle speed.

Q: How do I remove the IAC valve?
A:
You should disconnect the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve harness connector, remove the IAC valve attaching fasteners, the IAC valve assembly, and the O-ring and clean the IAC valve O-ring sealing surface, the pintle valve seat, and the air passage and inspect the IAC valve O-ring for cuts, cracks, or distortion.

Q: How do I remove the Throttle Body?
A:
You should remove the intake air resonator from the Throttle Body, and inspect the throttle body bore and the throttle valve plate for deposits, clean the throttle body bore and the throttle valve plate using a clean shop towel with GM Top Engine Cleaner, P/N 1052626 or AC-Delco Carburetor Tune-Up Conditioner, P/N X66-P, or an equivalent product, remove and disassemble the throttle body for cleaning if the deposits are excessive. After disassembly, you should clean the throttle body using a part cleaning brush, assemble and install the throttle body if previously done, and install the intake air resonator.
Q: How do I remove the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor?
A:
You should disconnect the negative battery cable and the MAP Sensor harness connector, remove the MAP sensor by pulling straight up with a slight rocking motion, remove the MAP sensor grommet and discard the MAP sensor grommet.
Q: How do I install the Throttle Position (TP) Sensor?
A:
You should with the throttle valve closed, install the TP sensor on the throttle shaft, rotate the TP sensor counterclockwise to align the mounting holes, install the TP sensor attaching fasteners, and install the TP sensor harness connector.
