FAQ for Spare Tire Hoist Repair

Q: How do I install the Spare Tire?
A:
You should install the hoist to the crossmember, install the bolts and the nuts, install the pin and the retainer to the shaft and the spare tire (place the tire on the ground, pull the wheel retainer through the wheel opening, attach the ratchet to the wheel, place the end of the wheel wrench through the rear bumper access hole, turn the ratchet clockwise to raise the tire, and when two clicks are heard, stop turning the wrench).

Q: How do I remove the Spare Tire?
A:
You should remove the spare tire (attach a ratchet to the wheel with the DOWN mark facing you, put the end of the wheel wrench through the rear bumper access hole until the wrench connects to the hoist shaft, turn the ratchet counterclockwise, lower the tire, turn the ratchet until the spare tire can be pulled out from under the vehicle, and once the tire has been lowered, you should tilt the retainer at the end of the cable and pull the retainer through the wheel opening), then you should remove the pin and the retainer from the shaft, remove the bolts and the nuts and remove the hoist from the crossmember.
