You should disable the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system (if equipped), remove the inflator module, remove the horn pad assembly (if not equipped with SIR), remove the horn switch, make an alignment mark, remove the steering wheel nut and the steering wheel.

Q: How do I remove the Steering Wheel Speed Sensor?
A:
You should set the front wheels in the straight-ahead position, disconnect the negative battery cable, disable the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR), remove the nut and the bolt from the upper to the lower steering shaft connection, remove the position sensor connect, remove the position sensor and bearing assembly from the steering column jacket by pulling the assembly straight out and remove the position sensor from the clips in the bearing assembly.

Q: How do I install the Steering Wheel Speed Sensor?
A:
You should install the position sensor into the bearing assembly, install the bearing into the steering column jacket, connect the position sensor connector, install the bolt and the nut to the upper end of the shaft, connect the negative battery cable and enable the SIR system.
