You will need to pry the clip anchor out of the hole, push the clip away from the lever, and push the clip away from the lever.

Q: How to install the front door exterior handle?
A:
You may need to install the gasket and the lock cylinder, the lock cylinder retainer, the lock rod, and the door handle, then install the nuts to the door handle and tighten them to 6 N.m (53 lb in), and then install the door handle lock rod, the access hole plug, the water deflector, and the trim panel.

The installation procedure is to install the outside handle to the door, then install the outside handle nuts and tighten the outside handle nuts to 7 N.m (62 lb in), then install the control rod to the outside handle through the clip, next install the water deflector and the trim panel.
