Q: How to remove the fuel gauge sender?
A:
You will need to disconnect the negative battery cable, relieve the fuel system pressure, then drain and remove the fuel tank, next remove the fuel tank and the fuel sender assembly, disconnect the fuel pump electrical connector, remove the fuel level sensor electrical connector retaining clip, disconnect the fuel level sensor electrical connector, finally remove the fuel level sensor retaining clip and the fuel level sensor.

Because the amount of leverage generated by handling the fuel pipes could damage the joints.

Q: How do you inspect for fuel leaks?
A:
You can turn ON the ignition for 2 seconds, turn OFF the ignition for 10 seconds, then turn ON the ignition, and inspect for fuel leaks.
