Q: What's the removal procedure for the engine oil dipstick?
A:
The removal procedure is to remove the engine cover, the oil level indicator, the bolt holding the oil level indicator tube to the transmission fluid fill tube, and the upper half of the oil level indicator tube, then clean the old sealer from the tubes, remove the oil level indicator tube bolt and the oil level indicator tube, lastly clean the old sealer from the oil level indicator tube and the engine block.

Q: What's the installation procedure for the engine oil dipstick?
A:
The installation procedure is to install the lower half of the oil level indicator tube to the engine, apply sealer, GM P/N 12346004 or equivalent, on the upper oil level indicator tube to the area where the tube fits into the lower half, install the oil level indicator tube upper half to the lower half, secure the engine oil level indicator tube to the transmission fluid fill tube with the bolt and tighten the bolt to 12 Nm (106-inch lbs.) then install the oil level indicator and the engine cover.
