02/11/2022Q: What's the proper way to remove the power steering cooler pipe hose?
A:
The proper way is to remove the upper fan shroud, the fan, and the lower fan shroud, then raise the vehicle, place a container under the power steering system to catch the fluid when disconnecting or connecting the power steering cooler hoses, disconnect the power steering cooler hose from the steering pump and disconnect the power steering cooler pipe hose from the steering gear, finally remove the power steering cooler pipe from the air baffle.

A:
The installation procedure is to install the power steering hose, connect the pressure hose to the hydraulic brake booster inlet, then connect the pressure hose to the rear power steering pump and tighten the hose fittings to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.), and finally install the tie wraps and the hose insulators and bleed the system.
