A:
No, you cannot. Because erratic engine operation may result.

Q: What's the proper way to remove the timing cover?
A:
The proper way is to remove the engine oil pan, the crankshaft balancer, the water pump, and the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor, then remove the engine front cover, discard the engine front cover and clean all sealing surfaces.
