Q: How to install the fuel rail?
A:
You can oil the fuel injector O-rings with clean motor oil, place the fuel rail assembly on the intake manifold, seat the fuel injectors by hand, install the fuel rail hold-down bolts, connect the 6 fuel injector electrical connectors, the fuel feed, the vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator, the ignition coil wires, and install the fuel injection sight shield.

A:
You can relieve the fuel pressure from the fuel system, clean the fuel rail assembly and connections, disconnect the fuel feed, and the vacuum line from the fuel pressure regulator, remove the ignition coil wires, the 6 injector electrical connectors, the fuel rail hold-down bolts, and remove the fuel rail with equal force on both sides of the fuel rail.

The procedure is to disconnect the negative battery cable, remove the fuel injector sight shield, connect J 34730-1A to the fuel pressure connection, install the bleed hose into an approved container and open the valve to bleed the fuel system pressure and drain any fuel remaining in the J 34730-1A into an approved container.

You can install the new O-rings on the fuel pressure regulator, the regulator O-ring back up, the regulator large O-ring, the regulator filter screen, the regulator small O-ring, the fuel pressure regulator, the snap ring, connect the vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator, the negative battery cable, and the fuel injection sight shield.

You can relieve the fuel pressure, clean any dirt from the fuel pressure regulator retaining ring, remove the vacuum line from the pressure regulator, the snap ring, remove the regulator small O-ring, the regulator filter screen, the regulator large O-ring, the regulator O-ring back up, and cover the fuel pressure regulator housing.
