Q: How to remove the timing cover?
A:
You can disconnect the negative battery cable, drain the engine oil, and the cooling system, remove the drive belt tensioner, the water pump pulley, and the crankshaft balancer, pry out the crankshaft front oil seal with a suitable tool such as a large screwdriver, disconnect the electrical connectors, remove the crankshaft position sensor shield, the radiator outlet hose from the water pump, install the engine support fixture, remove the crankshaft position sensor, the engine front cover bolt, the engine front cover with the oil filter adapter as one assembly, the engine front cover gasket, the water pump from the engine front cover, the oil pump cover and gear set from the engine front cover, inspect the timing chain for overall in and out movement, the sprockets for wear, and the oil pan gasket.

Q: How to install the timing cover?
A:
You can install the oil pump cover and gear set to the engine front cover, the water pump and bolts to the engine front cover, the water pump and bolts to the engine front cover, the pressure relief valve, the oil filter adapter, and the oil filter adapter bolts to the engine front cover, the crankshaft position sensor, the new engine front cover seal using J 35354, the oil pan-to-engine front cover bolts, the oil level sensor, the engine mount bracket, the water pump pulley, and bolts, the radiator outlet hose to the water pump, the oil filter, the crankshaft position sensor shield, the crankshaft balancer, the drive belt tensioner, and connect the negative battery cable.
