FAQ for Tie Rod End Repair

Q: How to remove the tie rod?
A:
After raising the vehicle, you can remove the cotter pin and the castellated nut, the outer tie rod, the prevailing torque nut, and the inner tie rod. Then you need to loosen the adjuster tube clamp bolts, unscrew the tie rod ends, remove the tie rod ends, and inspect the components for damage. After that, you can clean the threads and the tapered surfaces.
