2001 Chevrolet Metro Fuel Sending Unit

You need to remove the fuel sender assembly from the fuel tank, disconnect the electrical connector for the fuel level sensor from the fuel sender assembly, depress the retaining tab and slide the fuel level sensor assembly down to remove the sensor from the fuel sender assembly.

You need to insert the tab on the fuel level sensor assembly into the channel on the fuel sender assembly, slide the sensor up until the sensor locks in place, connect the electrical connector to the fuel sender assembly, and install the fuel sender assembly into the fuel tank.

You should be careful not to damage the sealing surfaces. If the sealing surfaces are damaged, a fuel leak may occur.

You need to remove the fuel sender assembly, disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel sender assembly, depress the retaining tab, slide the fuel level sensor assembly down to remove the sensor from the fuel sender assembly, remove the lower assembly end cap, remove the fuel pump cushion, disconnect the 2 fuel pump electrical connections from the fuel sender sub-assembly, pull the fuel pump firmly down out of the fuel sender assembly housing, release the 3 snap-fit retainers that secure the housing, remove the fuel tube and the 2 grommets.

The recommended torque is 10 Nm (89 lb in).
