You need to turn OFF the ignition, disconnect the electrical connector, remove the evaporative emission (EVAP) vent valve bracket bolt, remove the EVAP vent valve from the bracket, disconnect the vent hose from the EVAP vent valve, then remove the EVAP vent valve.

Q: What is the proper way to install the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge valve?

You should position the EVAP canister purge valve on the intake manifold and install the retainer bolt, connect the EVAP canister purge pipe and the vacuum supply hose, then connect the EVAP canister purge valve electrical connector.
