Q: What is the removal procedure for the rear axle shaft?
A:
You need to raise the vehicle, remove the tire and wheel assembly, the brake drums, the rear axle housing cover and the gasket, the pinion shaft locking bolt, the pinion shaft, and the shaft part way, enter the differential case and rotate the lock, push the flange of the axle shaft toward the differential, remove the C-lock and the axle shaft, and inspect all the parts.

You need to remove the flange bolts, lightly tap the axle shaft to loosen the shaft, grip the rib on the axle shaft flange, twist the axle shaft flange to start the axle shaft removal, remove the axle shaft and the gasket, and clean the axle shaft flange and the outside face of the hub assembly.

You should lift the cross and insert J 9522-5 between the seal and the bearing cup you are removing and continue to press the bearing cup out of the yoke.
Q: How to install the center bearing?
A:
You need to install J37623, support the J 37623 in the press, place the center bearing assembly on the propeller shaft, install the J25234, press on top of the J 25234 and the slinger retaining ring on top of the center bearing assembly, install J 25234 onto the shaft, press on top of the J 25234, remove the propeller shaft, install the propeller shaft, and lower the vehicle.
Q: How to lubricate the slip-yoke spline?
A:
You need to apply chassis lubricant at the slip spline grease fitting until the grease begins to escape through the vent hole, and clean the splined surface on the slip yoke.
