You need to remove the intake manifold, the valve push rods, the valve lifter guide retainer, and the valve lifter guide and valve lifters, place the valve lifters and valve lifter guides in an organizer rack and use the J 3049 to remove a stuck valve lifter.

Q: What is the removal procedure for the right valve rocker arm cover?
A:
You need to remove the engine cover, the screw retaining the oil fill tube to the generator and drive belt tensioner bracket, and the oil fill tube, disconnect the Ignition Control Module (ECM) electrical connector, open the engine electrical harness retainer, reposition the engine electrical harness over the ignition coil, disconnect the spark plug wires, remove AIR bypass hose assembly, the crankcase vent tube, and the Valve Cover, and clean all sealing surfaces.
Q: How to install the valve stem oil seal and valve spring?
A:
You need to select the proper Valve Stem Oil Seal for the specific valve guide, install the valve spring and the valve spring cap, compress the valve spring, install the valve stem keys, hold the valve stem keys in place, release the valve spring pressure, remove the J 5892-D, or the J 38606 and the J23590, install the spark plugs and the valve rocker arm covers.
Q: How to adjust the exhaust valves for cylinders number 1, 3, 4, and 8 and the intake valves for cylinders number 1, 2, 5, and 7 with the engine in the number 1 firing position?
A:
You need to turn the valve rocker arm nut counterclockwise until the valve lash is felt in the valve pushrod, turn the valve rocker arm nut clockwise until all the valve lash is removed, and turn the valve rocker arm nut clockwise 1 additional turn (360 degrees) when all the valve lash is removed.
