The proper way is to remove the engine sight shield, the positive crankcase ventilation (PVC) tube from the intake manifold and valve rocker arm cover, the PCV valve from the PCV tube, and the vent hose from the throttle body and the valve rocker arm cover.
Q: What is the removal procedure for the evaporative emission canister vent valve (cab/chassis)?

The procedure is to disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) vent pipe from the EVAP canister vent valve, and the EVAP vent harness connector from the EVAP canister vent valve, and remove the EVAP canister vent valve and the EVAP vent bracket from the EVAP canister vent valve.
