The proper way is to place the fuel pressure gage bleed hose into an approved container, open the bleed valve to bleed OFF fuel system pressure, place a shop towel to catch any remaining fuel spillage, drain any fuel remaining in the gage into an approved container, and install the cap on the fuel pressure connection and the engine sight shield.

Q: How to remove the fuel pressure gage?
A:
The proper way is to remove the engine sight shield, install the fuel pressure gauge to the fuel pressure service connection, turn ON the ignition, place the bleed hose of the fuel pressure gauge into an approved gasoline container, open the bleed valve on the fuel pressure gauge, command the fuel pump ON, and close the bleed valve on the fuel pressure gauge.

Q: How to properly clean the fuel system?
A:
The proper way is to remove the fuel sender assembly, replace a contaminated strainer, replace the fuel pump if you find dirt or debris in the fuel pump inlet, flush the fuel tank with hot water, pour the water out of the fuel sender assembly opening, and install the fuel sender assembly.
