Q: How do you remove the automatic transmission range selector cable?
A:
You can set the parking brake and chock the wheels, fully lift the retainer from the transaxle range selector cable mechanism, disconnect the transaxle range selector cable terminal from the transaxle manual shift lever pin, press the locking tabs inward to release the transaxle range selector cable from the bracket, remove the left closeout/insulator panel, remove the retaining clip from the range selector cable, remove the range selector cable from the column control lever, remove the range selector cable from the steering column bracket and remove the range selector cable through the hole in the cowl.

A:
You should not pull the terminal beyond the pin and then push back. This action could move the shifter out of (N) Neutral.

You can rotate the shift lever to the LOW position, fully down, then push forward and upward slowly past the first click, which is overdrive, until it stops solidly at the second click. It is in (N) Neutral.
