Q: How to relieve the fuel system pressure?
A:
You need to disconnect the negative battery terminal, remove the fuel injector sight shield and the fuel pressure connection cap, wrap a shop towel around the fuel pressure connection, then install the bleed hose into an approved container and open the valve to bleed the system pressure and drain any fuel remaining in the fuel pressure gauge into an approved container.

Q: How to install the fuel pressure gage?
A:
You need to remove the fuel injector sight shield, install the J 34730-1A to the fuel pressure service connection, located on the fuel rail, then turn ON the ignition, place the bleed hose of the fuel pressure gage into an approved gasoline container, bleed the air from the fuel pressure gage, command the fuel pump ON with a scan tool, then close the bleed valve on the fuel pressure gage, lastly inspect for fuel leaks.

Q: What should be noticed before installing the fuel pressure regulator?
A:
You should not use compressed air to test or clean a fuel pressure regulator as damage to the fuel pressure regulator may result. Clean the fuel pressure regulator filter screen with gasoline if necessary. And do not immerse the fuel pressure regulator in a solvent bath to prevent damage to the fuel pressure regulator.
