Q: How to install the steering shaft?
A:
You can install the upper end of the intermediate shaft into the upper shaft, the lower end of the intermediate shaft coupler, the bolt to the lower shaft coupler, the bolt to the upper end of the shaft, and remove the J 42640 from the steering column lower access hole.

Q: How to remove the steering shaft?
A:
You can set the front wheels in the straight-ahead position, install the J 42640 in the steering column lower access hole, remove the left charge air cooler hose, the bolt from the upper to lower shaft connection, the bolt from the lower shaft coupler, the intermediate shaft assembly, and slide the intermediate shaft down out of the upper shaft.

Q: How to remove the steering shaft-upper?
A:
You can install the J 42640 in the steering column lower access hole, mark the relationship of the bolt and the clamp, and the relationship of the upper intermediate shaft, remove the nut and the bolt, the accelerator pedal position sensor, and slide the upper intermediate shaft towards the instrument panel.
