Q: What should be noticed in the fuel injector cleaning procedure?
A:
GM top engine cleaner is the only injector cleaning agent recommended, so you should not use other cleaning agents, as they may contain methanol which can damage fuel system components. And under NO circumstances should the top engine cleaner be added to the vehicle's fuel tank, as it may damage the fuel pump and other system components. Then do not exceed a 10 percent cleaning solution concentration. Higher concentrations may damage fuel system components. Testing has demonstrated that exceeding the 10 percent cleaning solution concentration does not improve the effectiveness of this procedure.
