2004 Cadillac CTS Exhaust Heat Shield

The procedure is to remove the drive belt tensioner, remove the 2 bolts securing the after-boil coolant pump to the ECM bracket, remove the starter, the heated oxygen sensor, the remaining right Exhaust Manifold retaining nuts, the right exhaust manifold, and the gasket, and then clean and inspect the right exhaust manifold.

The procedure is to pry the front exhaust hanger free from the rear suspension hanger rod, apply a suitable lubricant to the Exhaust Pipe hanger rod to ease the removal of the hanger, and then pry the tailpipe hanger free from the tailpipe hanger rod.

The procedure is to disconnect the oxygen sensor retainers from the catalytic converter hanger bracket, remove the nuts securing the catalytic converters to the catalytic converter hanger bracket, remove the bolts securing the catalytic converter hanger bracket to the transmission, bend the catalytic converter braces slightly rearward, and then remove the catalytic converter hanger bracket from the catalytic converters.
