The proper way is to lubricate the new fuel injector O-ring seals with clean engine oil, install the new fuel injector O-ring seals onto the fuel injectors, install the fuel injectors to the fuel rail with the new retainer clips, install the fuel rail with the injectors to the intake manifold, install the bolts securing the fuel rail to the intake manifold, and then install the intake plenum.
