The procedure is to open the hood, release the clip retaining the hood assist rod to the lower assist rod ball stud, release the clip retaining the hood assist rod to the upper assist rod ball stud and remove the hood assist rod from the vehicle.

A:
You can press the hood assist rod onto the upper hood assist rod ball stud, press the hood assist rod onto the lower hood assist rod ball stud, ensure that both clips are fully seated on the hood assist rod and close the hood.
