Q: How do you remove the rack and pinion outer tie rod end?
A:
You can remove the tire and wheel assemblies, loosen,(do not remove) the outer tie rod end stud nut from the outer tie rod end ball stud, then using the J 42188, loosen the outer tie rod end stud to steering knuckle connection, remove the outer tie rod end stud nut to separate the tie rod from the steering knuckle, loosen the jam nut on the inner tie rod assembly, and remove the outer tie rod end from the inner tie rod assembly.

Q: What's the installation procedure for the outer tie rod end stud nut?
A:
The installation procedure is to tighten the nut to 20 N.m (15 ft. lbs.) to seat the stud, turn the nut an additional 160 degrees, and check for the outer tie rod end stud nut for a minimum final torque of 45 N.m (33 ft. lbs.).
