Q: How do you remove the Fuel Rail Assembly?
A:
You need to disconnect the negative battery cable, relieve the fuel system pressure, remove the upper intake manifold, the fuel pipe retainer clip bolt, the engine fuel feed pipe from the fuel rail, the engine fuel return pipe from the fuel pressure regulator, and the fuel feed and the fuel return pipe O-rings, discard the O-rings, disconnect the main fuel injector wiring harness connector, pull up the lock release on the fuel injector electrical connectors, depress the lock tabs and disconnect the fuel injector electrical connectors, remove the fuel injector wiring harness from the fuel rail, disconnect the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor electrical connector and remove the fuel rail bolts, the fuel rail assembly and the fuel injector O-ring seal from the spray tip end of each injector, and then discard the O-ring seals if damaged.

Q: How do you install the Fuel Pressure Gage?
A:
You need to install the J 34730-1A with the J 34730-262 to the fuel pressure service connection, located on the fuel rail, turn ON the ignition, place the bleed hose of the fuel pressure gage into an approved gasoline container, open the bleed valve on the fuel pressure gage to bleed the air from the fuel pressure gage, command the fuel pump ON with a scan tool until all of the air is bled out of the gage, close the bleed valve on the fuel pressure gage, command the fuel pump ON with a scan tool and inspect for fuel leaks.

Q: How do you remove the Fuel Pressure Regulator?
A:
You need to relieve the fuel system pressure, disconnect the fuel pressure regulator vacuum line, remove the fuel return pipe from the fuel pressure regulator and the fuel pressure regulator screw, use a shop towel to catch any spilled fuel to lift and twist the fuel pressure regulator to remove the fuel pressure regulator from the fuel rail, remove the retainer and the spacer bracket from the fuel rail, remove and discard and the fuel pressure regulator inlet and the fuel return pipe O-rings, discard the O-rings and inspect the filter screen for contamination. If contaminated, you can replace the fuel pressure regulator.

Q: How do you install the Fuel Pressure Regulator?
A:
You need to lubricate the new O-rings with clean engine oil and install the O-rings to the fuel pressure regulator, install the fuel return pipe to the fuel pressure regulator, the new retainer, and the spacer bracket to the slot on the fuel rail, the fuel pressure regulator to the fuel rail and the fuel pressure regulator screw, connect the fuel pressure regulator vacuum line, verify that the retainer and spacer bracket is engaged in slots in the fuel rail, grasp and pull on the regulator to ensure that the regulator is properly seated, connect the negative battery cable and inspect the fuel system for leaks.

You need to place the fuel pressure gage bleed hose into an approved container and open the bleed valve to bleed fuel system pressure and a shop towel under the fuel pressure gage adaptor fitting to catch any remaining fuel spillage, remove the J 34730-1A from the adaptor fitting and the J 34730-262, drain any fuel remaining in the fuel pressure gage into an approved container and install the cap on the fuel pressure connection.
