Q: How do you install the Hood Latch Release Cable?
A:
You need to tie the hood latch release cable to a wire or string. Feed the hood latch release cable through the grommet at the dash panel, apply strip caulk sealer or equivalent to the grommet, install the hood latch release cable to the hood release handle and the hood release handle, pull the carpet back, install the hood latch release cable retainers to the engine compartment side rail retainers and route the hood latch release cable through the radiator support. Then you can install the air cleaner, the front fender upper diagonal brace, the hood release cable to the hood latch and the left front headlamp, remove the block from the hood latch, inspect the hood latch for proper operation and close the hood.

Q: How do you remove the Hood Latch Release Cable?
A:
You need to open the hood and remove the left front headlamp. Remove the hood latch release cable from the latch mechanism, the front fender upper diagonal brace, and the air cleaner, tie a wire or string to the end of the hood release cable and ensure that the end of the wire or string remains in the engine compartment. Then you can remove the hood release cable retainers from the engine compartment side rail, pull the carpet back to access the hood latch release cable, remove the hood latch release handle and the hood latch release cable from the hood latch release handle, use a small, flat-bladed tool remove the grommet from the dash panel and remove the hood latch release cable from the dash panel.
