Q: How to clean the Throttle Body?
A:
You need to remove the air cleaner intake duct and inspect the throttle body bore and the throttle valve plate for deposits. You must open the throttle valve to inspect all of the surfaces. Then you can clean the throttle body bore and the throttle valve plate using a clean shop towel with GM Top Engine Cleaner, GM P/N 1052626 (Canadian P/N 993026), or an equivalent product. If the deposits are excessive, you can remove and disassemble the throttle body for cleaning. After disassembly, you can clean the throttle body using parts cleaning brush, and do not immerse the throttle body in any cleaning solvent. If you removed and disassembled the throttle body for cleaning, you can assemble and install the throttle body, and install the air cleaner intake duct.

You need to partially drain the cooling system, remove the air cleaner intake duct, disconnect the idle air control (IAC) valve electrical connector and the throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connector and remove the accelerator control cable bracket, the throttle body inlet and the outlet hoses from the throttle body, the heater pipe nut at the throttle body, the nuts and the bolts from the throttle body, the throttle body assembly and the throttle body gasket and clean and inspect the throttle body gasket mating surface.

A:
You need to install a new gasket if necessary, the throttle body assembly, the throttle body nuts and the bolts, the throttle body inlet and the outlet hoses to the throttle body and the heater pipe nut to the throttle body, connect the IAC valve electrical connector and the TP sensor electrical connector, install the accelerator controls cable bracket and the air cleaner intake duct and fill the cooling system.
