Q: How do I install the Crankshaft Front Oil Seal?
A:
You should use the J 35354 to install the oil seal, use the crankshaft balancer bolt with the tool, tighten the bolt until the crankshaft front oil seal is seated in the engine front cover, remove the J 35354, coat the inside seal surface of the crankshaft balancer with lubricant GM P/N 10522497 or equivalent and install the crankshaft balancer and the bolt.

You should remove the crankshaft balancer and the bolt and use a screwdriver to pry out the crankshaft front oil seal.

Q: What should be cautioned in Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal and Housing replacement?
A:
You should place the crankshaft rear oil seal housing face down on a clean surface and support it with blocks of wood, use a suitable driving tool and hammer and lightly tap around the outer edge of the seal to remove it, and clean and inspect the crankshaft rear oil seal housing making sure it is free of any foreign material. With all bolts removed from the housing, you should place it face up on a flat clean surface.
