FAQ for Knock Sensor Repair

Q: How to remove the Knock Sensor (KS) 1?
A:
You should turn OFF the ignition, drain the cooling system, raise the vehicle, disconnect the electrical connector from the knock sensor and remove the knock sensor from the engine block.

Q: What should be noticed in installing the Knock Sensor (KS) 2?
A:
You can not apply thread sealant to sensor threads. The sensor is coated at the factory and applying an additional sealant will affect the sensor's ability to detect detonation.

Q: What should be noticed in removing the Knock Sensor (KS) 2?
A:
Hot engine coolant may cause severe burns. Although the cooling system has been drained, coolant remains in the engine water jacket. This coolant will drain with the removal of the knock sensor.
