Q: How to remove the Throttle Body Assembly?
A:
First, you need to remove the fuel injection sight shield, drain the radiator coolant, remove the air cleaner intake duct, disconnect the idle air control (IAC) valve electrical connector, the throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connector, the mass air flow (MAF) sensor electrical connector. Then, please remove the cruise control cable, the accelerator control cable, the electrical harness retainer clip, the vacuum hoses, the throttle body support bracket, and the throttle body assembly, and clean the gasket surface on the intake manifold and the throttle body assembly. Finally, you should remove the accelerator controls cable bracket from the throttle body if the throttle body is being replaced.

Q: How to perform the Throttle Body Cleaning procedure?
A:
First, you need to remove the air cleaner intake duct and the air inlet screen and inspect the throttle body bore and the throttle valve plate for deposits. Then, please clean the throttle body bore and the throttle valve plate using a clean shop towel with GM Top Engine Cleaner, P/N 1052626, or an equivalent product. If the deposits are excessive, you should remove and disassemble the throttle body for cleaning. After disassembly, you need to clean the throttle body using a parts-cleaning brush. Finally, you should assemble and install the throttle body, install the air inlet screen, and the air cleaner intake duct.

Q: How to install the Accelerator Controls Cable?
A:
First, you need to install the accelerator control cable through the bulkhead, install the snap retainer through the bulkhead, install the accelerator control cable through the slot in the accelerator pedal lever, and assemble the dash panel insulator retainer to the accelerator control cable. Then, please push the retainer over the cable lever end fitting and up the cable until the retainer snaps onto the flange of the cable dash fitting, check for complete throttle opening and closing positions by operating the accelerator pedal. Finally, you should install the accelerator control cable to the throttle body lever and the accelerator cable bracket, install the accelerator control cable to the right slot on top of the washer bottle and the retaining clip, and install the left closeout/insulator panel.

Then, please remove the accelerator control cable from the retaining clip and the right slot on top of the washer bottle. Finally, you should remove the accelerator cable from the throttle body lever and the accelerator control cable bracket.
