FAQ for Air Bag Clockspring Repair

Q: How to remove the Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil?
A:
You should disable the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system, tilt the steering column to the center position, remove the steering wheel from the column and the upper and lower trim covers, inspect the steering column for accident damage, remove the wire harness strap, remove the wire harness assembly if the steering wheel has PAD control and remove the retaining ring using snap ring pliers, the steering wheel module coil and the wave washer.
