Q: How to remove the Crankshaft Front Oil Seal?
A:
You should remove the crankshaft balancer, make sure not to damage the engine front cover or the crankshaft, pry out the crankshaft front oil seal using a suitable tool and use the provided slots for prying out the seal.

Q: How to install the Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal and Housing?
A:
You should install the crankshaft rear oil seal, apply a 3 mm (0.12 inch) bead of GM P/N 12378521 to the rear oil seal housing, install the J 44219 guide pins into the block, slide the crankshaft rear oil seal housing over the alignment pins J 44219 and crankshaft, install the crankshaft rear oil seal housing bolts, except the 2 in place of the guide pins, remove the J 44219 guide pins, install the remaining 2 crankshaft rear oil seal housing bolts, wipe off any excess material from the bottom of the oil pan sealing area, install the flywheel and secure with the bolts, tighten the bolts an additional 50 degrees and install the transmission.
Q: How to install the Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal?
A:
You should use J 44227 to install the crankshaft rear oil seal, use the plastic installation sleeve supplied with the new seal when installing a new seal, remove the J 44227 and the seal installation sleeve after the seal is installed, discard the sleeve and install the flywheel and the transmission.
