A:
You should remove the fuel sender assembly, and disconnect the fuel pump electrical connector. remove the retaining clip from the fuel level sensor connector, disconnect the electrical connector from under the fuel sender cover, remove the sensor retaining clip and squeeze the locking tangs and remove the fuel level sensor.

You should remove the fuel tank, use the J 44402 to remove the fuel sender assembly retaining ring, remove the fuel sender assembly and the seal, and drain the fuel from the fuel sender assembly into an approved container to reduce the risk of fire and personal injury and clean the fuel sender sealing surfaces.
