FAQ for Fuel Pump Strainer Repair

Q: How to remove the fuel strainer?
A:
You need to disconnect the negative battery cable, relieve the fuel system pressure, drain the fuel tank, remove the fuel tank and the fuel sender assembly, note the position of the fuel strainer on the fuel sender, support the fuel sender assembly with one hand and grasp the strainer with the other hand, pull and discard the strainer off the fuel sender, inspect the strainer and replace a contaminated strainer and clean the fuel tank.
