Q: What is the removal procedure for the quick connect fitting(s) (metal collar)?
A:
The procedure is to relieve the fuel system pressure, remove the retainer, blow dirt out of the fitting, choose the correct tool from the J 37088-A tool set for the size of the fitting, pull the connection apart, wipe off the male pipe end and inspect both ends of the fitting for dirt and burrs.

01/11/2022Q: How do you replace the quick connect fitting(s) (plastic collar)?
A:
You can relieve the fuel system pressure, blow dirt out of the fitting, squeeze the plastic tabs of the male end connector, pull the connection apart, wipe off the male pipe end, inspect both ends of the fitting for dirt and burrs, and clean or replace the components as required.

A:
You can apply a few drops of clean engine oil to the male pipe end, push both sides of the quick-connect fitting together and pull on both sides of the quick-connect fitting.
