You can position the lock striker to the alignment marks, install the lock striker reinforcement plate, install and hand tighten the striker nuts, close the compartment lid, check the striker alignment and tighten the lock striker nuts.

The procedure is to mark the location of the latch on the compartment lid, remove the lock cable assembly, unclip the cable door at the top of the lock release box, remove the remote release cable, remove the latch cable assembly bolts and remove the latch assembly.

The procedure is to remove the rear compartment sill plate, pull back the rear compartment trim panel, mark the location of the lock striker, remove the lock striker nuts, remove the lock striker reinforcement plate and remove the lock striker from the rear compartment.

You can position the latch assembly to the alignment marks, install the latch assembly bolts, install the remote release bolts, clip the cable door at the top of the lock release box and install the lock cable assembly.
